How Does CBD Vape Make You Feel?

How Does CBD Vape Make You Feel?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is the new plant compound that has recently risen to prominence. Millions of users and experts swear on its therapeutic effects.

Indeed, it comes from a cannabis plant. However, unlike Tetrahydrocannabinol, CBD doesn’t cause a “high.” For this reason, authorities are more lenient on CBD products than their Marijuana counterparts.

What is CBD vape juice?

It's similar to your everyday vape juice. However, it contains additional traces of CBD extract. Some people also refer to them as CBD e-liquids. You use them with e-cigarettes like vape pens, mods, and pods.

Some people call them "CBD vape oils." However, we don't like the name because it might suggest that it's okay to vape traditional CBD oils and tinctures. It's not! They are not e-liquids since they don't contain Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerine (VG). Regular oils are dangerous to the lungs and will trigger lethal conditions.

CBD Vape vs Marijuana Vape

Even though you can trace both products to the Cannabis species, they are significantly different. CBD comes from the Industrial Hemp Plant (A unique cannabis variant). On the hand, Marijuana vape products come from the Marijuana Plant.

The two plants have several similar qualities. However, their THC concentrations differ. The Industrial Hemp Plant has high CBD concentrations with little to no THC traces. Meanwhile, the Marijuana Plant has significantly higher THC concentrations than CBD.

Is CBD psychoactive?

You’ll often hear brands label CBD as a non-psychoactive compound. Even though it’s somewhat true, there’s more to it than what meets the eye.

In theory, a psychoactive substance is any substance that alters the user’s mental state or mood. With this explanation, it’s theoretically true that both CBD and THC are psychoactive compounds.

Instead of the term "non-psychoactive," we can best describe CBD's effects as "non-intoxicating." On the hand, THC's effects are more profound and mind-altering that we can easily label it as an intoxicating substance.

After vaping THC-rich substances like marijuana, users experience drastic changes in their mental state. There is usually a euphoric feeling accompanied by changes in perception of space and time. Suddenly, our senses are enhanced, and our experience with music, food, and even conversation significantly differs from normalcy. It's why most people can't go on with work after getting high on marijuana. The drastic shift from reality can trigger unwanted effects like anxiety, paranoia, and a racing heart.

On the hand, CBD's effects are more subtle and grounded. Some beginners will rarely outright experience its psychotropic impact—This doesn't mean it's ineffective. With continued use, the subject will experience its therapeutic effects.

Instead of heightened senses, CBD users experience better moods with less edginess. It's like a wave of calmness and relaxation has washed upon them. Since the mind isn't preoccupied with unwanted thoughts, some users report feeling more focused and less triggered. On top of that, CBD also has anti-inflammatory properties that help address body pain and soreness.

Unlike THC, CBD offers mental calmness and relaxation that won't hold you back from going on with your daily work life.

How does CBD work in the human body?

We've explained how CBD affects the human body and mind. We'll now go deeper into the physiological processes that make CBD's influence possible.

As you may be aware, the nervous system is the most crucial in the human body. It's a complex collection of organs, hormones, endocrines, nerves, and receptors that make everything possible (From thoughts and feelings to everyday mundane tasks).

Deep in the complex confines of the nervous system, we have the Network of Endocannabinoid Systems. Scientists believe the network is responsible for several operations and functions like mood, pain sensation, appetite, sleep, and mobility. It even has ties with the immune and reproductive systems.

The main components of the Endocannabinoid System include the receptors (CB1 and CB2), endocannabinoid molecules, and enzymes.

When we vape CBD, we introduce the plant molecules into our bloodstream. Since they are similar to our endogenous cannabinoids (Endocannabinoids), they mimic their function and bind with CB1 and CB2 receptors—This generally boosts the Endocannabinoid System that ensures homeostasis (The physical and mental effects help maintain biological stability).

Studies also show that CBD is an analgesic. It can help manage pain and improve sleep quality because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

That said, not everyone will experience the same effects. Some might even experience “munchies.” An effect famous with marijuana products. “Munchies” is the feeling of intense hunger a few moments after consuming a cannabis product.

Can CBD vape make me fail a drug test?

CBD is a non-intoxicating substance. Therefore, it's legal in the UK. Authorities will never test for CBD traces.

Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean that all CBD products are legal and won’t trigger testing kits. Full-spectrum CBD products also contain traces of THC. Most users prefer them because of the Entourage Effect. It states that CBD is more effective when consumed with other natural hemp compounds. The UK authorities allow no more than 0.2% THC in all CBD products (Any amount beyond that threshold is illegal).

If you are sensitive to THC or don’t want to take the risk, consider broad-spectrum or isolate CBD products. They contain 0.0% THC and will never fail a drug test.

Note: Even products containing 0.2% THC are unlikely to make you fail a drug test. The amount is too little to trigger any intoxicating effects. You need around 15% THC to get "high." Always shop from reputable companies that abide by the law. Additionally, they must offer third-party Certificates of Analysis for all their products. That way, you'll know the THC concentration in each commodity.

What are the side effects of CBD Vape?

CBD is a safe compound that seldom triggers side effects. Thanks to the Endocannabinoid System, the human body is very tolerant of CBD. Even in high concentrations, it will rarely lead to overdose (You’ll have to consume over 15,000mg of CBD at a go).

Even though it's a safe substance, misuse is still possible. CBD misuse can trigger side effects like nausea, lightheadedness, stomach upset, drowsiness, and diarrhoea.

Note: Always consult your doctor before using CBD products, especially if you have underlying medical conditions. CBD is known for reacting with over 139 drugs.
