How to Make CBD Vape Juice?

How to Make CBD Vape Juice?

No matter how great a CBD Vape juice is, you will always wish you could add a personal touch to it. If you’re the kind of person looking to have control over your CBD products, you will be happy to know that you can make your own CBD vape juice.

You don’t need a degree in chemistry to achieve this. However, you need to be cautious. You will be surprised to find out how easy it is to make your own CBD vape juice.

What Do You Need to Make CBD Vape Juice?

If you’ve been vaping for a while, you know Vegetable Glycerine and Propylene Glycol are the common ingredients in any vape liquid on the market. To customise your experience, you might want to throw in some nicotine and flavourings without forgetting the main ingredient, which is CBD. For this application, it’s best to use CBD isolate.

CBD isolate is preferred because it contains 99% CBD with virtually no THC or other substances that you might not want.

Here are some of the other necessary materials you will need to make your CBD vape juice:

  • An accurate gram scale to weigh the ingredients.
  • A clean container to mix the ingredients.
  • A funnel and stirrer.
  • A sterile bottle that you will use the store the juice once you’re done creating it.
  • Vape oil.
  • A mortar and pestle ( you can substitute this for whatever works for you).
  • A mild, low-level source of heat. If you don't have one, you can use a water bath to make your own CBD vape oil.

Step by Step Guide How to Make CBD Vape Juice

Start Measuring

Once you have everything you need for the process set out in front of you, the next step is to start measuring out the right quantities.

To make this process easier for you, you can use a 30ml bottle. It will not only make the task of measuring the ingredients easier but also help you estimate how much you save by making your vape oil.

If you prefer the 60 to 40 PG to VG ratio pour out 18ml of Propylene Glycol (PG) and 12ml of Vegetable Glycerine (VG).

If you decide to use some flavours, the measurements could get a little complicated. Flavours are PG based, which means you have to subtract the amount of flavour from the amount of PG to make sure everything stays balanced.

Now that you have the basics completed, you have to decide how much CBD oil you want in your vape oil. If you go for a 16.6mg/ml concentration, that means you will need about 500mg of CBD isolate mixed into the 30 ml bottle. This is a great concertation for most people and is also ideal when you're testing.

Mix the ingredients

You're not only hoping that your home-made CBD vape juice tastes excellent, but you're hoping it doesn't have a weird colour that might make it hard for you to want to taste it.

Well, there’s a trick to getting crystal clear CBD vape juice even when you make it at home. All you have to do is dissolve the CBD isolate in the PG first and then add the rest of the ingredients in after.

So, start by pouring your 18ml of PG into the 30ml bottle. If you have any flavouring, you will pour in the PG first then the flavouring both totalling 18ml. After adding the PG, add the CBD isolate crystals. Close the bottle with a cap and shake it vigorously for a minute.

The crystals are a bit stubborn when dissolving so you will need some mild heat to assist in the process. The safest method is to place the bottle in a container that contains hot water. Leave the bottle in the container with warm water for about 10 minutes, then pull it out and shake vigorously. Keep repeating this process until the mixture is clear and there is no crystals insight.

Some CBD vaping enthusiasts prefer to leave the bottle overnight and continue the next day. After the crystals and the PG are correctly mixed, you can add the 12ml of VG. Give the bottle another vigorous shake for another minute or so.

Once all the ingredients are incorporated, your home-made CBD vape juice is now ready to vape.

Vaping your new CBD vape juice blend

Even though the CBD vape juice is home-made, the vaping process is still the same. You have to prime the coils first with your new e-liquid.

Also, make sure you invest in the right atomiser before you start vaping. Most advanced users recommend an MTL for testing then you can switch to a Direct to Lung Device once you’re happy with the flavour and balance of ingredients.

Additional Tips

If you’re making your CBD vape juice for the first time, it helps to turn things down. It reduces the chances of making a mistake, and in case you do, you don't drown in disappointment.

Start by going for unflavoured CBD vape juice. It might not be as fun to use, but it makes getting the measurements right.

Once you have everything figured out, you can now start working on the flavours and working your way around more complex flavours.

Conclusion

There’s no harm if you use a branded CBD vape juice. Brands have invested money and resources in providing CBD users with the best products. However, occasionally, when you’re feeling a little adventurous or your finances won’t let you get your favourite premium CBD vape juice, the skill to make your own CBD juice can be handy.

This little guide here will hold your hand and help you master the art of making your CBD vape juice at home.
